Now, I Can See – Kofi Adomah Breaks Silence After Accident
For the first time since he recovered from a potentially fatal gunshot wound he received many months ago, Ghanaian broadcaster and journalist Kofi Adomah Nwanwani has made public statements. Kofi thanked everyone who helped him during his recuperation in a touching video that was posted to his Kofi TV YouTube account. He mentioned a lengthy list of supporters, which included members of his own family as well as the family of his wife, Miracle Adomah. He also explicitly cited Ibrahim Mahama, a businessman who offered him a lot of help, including the opportunity to travel in his private jet.
Kofi remarked, “Today is just to say thank you,” However, I will not leave any question unanswered, as I have stated previously. Whatever needs to be done will be done because what I went through was almost the end for me. I felt it could have been my death, especially since someone was shot in the leg at Teshie Nungua and died. Mine was in the face, and even now, there are still particles inside that I have to live with for a while,” he explained, promising to address the controversies surrounding the incident.
Current Eye Condition
Kofi Adomah shared an update on his vision, revealing that although his sight isn’t what it used to be, he can now see clearly enough to read and recognize people. Thanks to extensive surgeries and medical treatment, he can now see if someone is standing before him and even zoom in on small text by taking screenshots. “I can now see you if you are standing before me. I can read messages, and when the text is small, I can take a screenshot and zoom in to read. I am grateful for how far I’ve come and thankful to Ghanaians for their support,” he said.
The Incident and Medical Journey
Kofi Adomah Nwanwani was shot in the face on December 21, 2024, during the 25th-anniversary celebration of Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II at the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region. While covering the event for Angel TV, he was struck by a musket shot fired at close range by a chief’s bodyguard during a traditional display. He was initially treated at Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital and Berekum Holy Family Hospital before being flown to Dubai for advanced medical care. The injury resulted in the loss of sight in one eye, and subsequent treatments in the UK were necessary for further recovery.
