Academic City Holds Maiden “Red Stage Talent Show”

Academic City University(ACity) has launched its first-ever ‘Red Stage Talent Show’ with the theme, ‘Talent Unleashed; History in the Spotlight’, showcasing the diverse artistic talents of university students.
Eleven contestants competed in the talents showcase, delivered impressive performances in singing, spoken word and dance. After a highly competitive round, five contestants; Delfa, Doreen, Psalmzy and Jeremy, secured their spots in the grand finale.
The event, organized by ACity Production, drew an enthusiastic crowd of students, faculty and esteemed guests.

Nii Marmah Boye,Head of ACity Productions said the grand finale which is to take place next academic semester promises to feature even bigger performances, special guest appearance and exciting prizes with the winner taking home GH 2,500, while the first and second runners-up will receive GH 1,500 and GH1,000, respectively.
A panel of three external judges provided constructive feedback, commending the contestants for this creativity and stage presence. While some contestants advanced, others like Emma, vowed to return stronger and better in the next edition.
A finalist, Delfa , reflecting on her journey said “I was nervous and hesitant to apply, but I am glad I did. Being part of this experience has been amazing.” Diamond, another finalist, acknowledged the support she received throughout the competition. “I appreciate my manager’s commitment during the numerous rehearsals. That brought me this far.”
The audience was highly engaged, with many expressing their views during and after the event. Kevin, a final year student shared his thoughts “In my four years in ACity there has never been an event aside from sports that has brought the whole school together like this”.Victoria Mends, another final year student added “It was a fantastic show, the first of its kind on campus. I wish I could be here for the finale.”



Student Event Manager, Seyram Aveh and her team of organizers and coordinators indicated that the second season of the event is already in the works and they were working to make it better with the feedback they received, promising even greater opportunities for student performers. Although they have not settled on a date yet they assure us it will be full of excitement, joy and fun.
