[BUSTED] – National Security Intercepts 12 Containers Of US Dollars, Gold & Others In Sapeiman

Following a tip-off, National Security operatives have reportedly intercepted twelve 20-foot shipping containers filled with an undisclosed amount of US dollars, Ghanaian cedi notes, and gold bars.

Reports indicate that the illicit cargo was found hidden in a warehouse located in Sapeiman, along the Accra-Nsawam road. During a late-night operation, law enforcement discovered the twelve containers, although two are still unaccounted for and are currently being tracked.

The seized items included bundles of counterfeit US dollars concealed in wooden boxes coated with cement and charcoal, additional counterfeit currencies packed in plywood-covered boxes, suspected gold bars, and fake uniforms and boots of the Ghana Army.

Security officials have disclosed that the suspected ringleader, known only as “Alhaji,” remains at large along with three other suspects. A nationwide manhunt is underway to apprehend all individuals involved.

Moreover, social media is buzzing with speculation about “Alhaji” following the interception of this significant shipment. Discussions on X (formerly Twitter) have intensified, with Ghanaians calling for transparency and accountability in the investigation. Questions surrounding “Alhaji’s” identity, the origins of the seized items, and their intended use are fueling widespread speculation.

Skepticism is also growing regarding authorities’ assertions that the currencies are counterfeit, with many suggesting a possible cover-up. Concerns have been raised about the implications of such large sums of money being hoarded domestically, leading to speculation about potential involvement from high-ranking officials.
