Tears And Tributes: Supporters Honor Nana Pooley Memory

It’s been a week since a tragic incident that claimed the life of a dedicated Asante Kotoko supporter Nana Pooley. To honor their fallen brother, the kotoko supporters’ group organized a fabulous one-week celebration.
The event, which took place at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium, attracted hundreds of supporters, all clad in the team’s iconic red jerseys. The atmosphere was electric, with supporters singing, dancing, and chanting the team’s anthems.

The celebration kicked off with a solemn candlelight procession, led by the supporters’ group leaders. The procession made its way around the stadium, with supporters holding candles and pictures of the fallen fan.
After the procession, the supporters gathered on the pitch for a series of performances, including traditional drumming and dancing. The highlight of the event was a thrilling football match between two teams made up of Kotoko supporters.
The match was intense, with both teams displaying impressive skills and teamwork. In the end, Team A emerged victorious, winning 2-1 in a penalty shootout.

Top officials like Prosper Harrison Addo, (GFA) general secretary were also in attendance, and also the players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko was there too. Teams like Hearts of Oak and Bechem United also came to the one-week celebration.
The event ended with a grand finale of fireworks and final rendition of the team’s anthem. As the supporters dispersed, they all shared a sense of pride and unity, knowing that they had come together to honor one of their own.
The one-week celebration was a statement to the strength and solidarity of the Kotoko supporters’ group. Despite the tragic loss, they had come together to celebrate the life and legacy of their fallen brother.
