RNAQ40: GRA Begins Tax Assessment on Richard Quaye After Lavish Birthday Party

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is currently assessing Richard Nii-Armah Quaye, the founder of Bills Micro-Credit, on personal income tax.

Richard Quaye’s filed taxes and his expected tax obligations are the subject of the investigation, according to many media outlets on March 24, 2025. Although the precise sum being assessed is yet unknown, sources attest that the tax office uses this as part of regular compliance checks.

Despite some social media speculations, authorities confirm that there has been no freezing of Richard Quaye’s bank accounts throughout this process. The businessman, who is said to possess roughly 29 companies, is working with law enforcement to find a solution.

The evaluation comes after the GRA placed more emphasis on making sure firms and business executives were paying their taxes. It’s crucial to remember that unless they are taken to the enforcement steps, these reviews usually stay confidential. Regarding the ongoing evaluation, Richard Quaye, whose microfinance organization assists several Ghanaian companies, has refrained from making any public remarks.
