Return Gov’t Vehicles By January 3, 2025 – Akufo-Addo To Outgoing MPs

By January 3, 2025, all departing Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers, and other political appointees must return all government-owned vehicles, according to a new instruction from the Office of the President. As President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s second term draws to a close, this decree, which was first put into effect in 2020 at the end of his first term, is still in force.

No government vehicle shall be retained by any appointment of the current administration, according to a statement issued on December 11, 2024. All Ministers of State, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers, Special Assistants, Special Aides to the President and Vice President, and other political appointments, including those on Statutory Boards and Corporations, are covered by the directive.

All vehicles must be returned to the Chief Director of the respective Ministries by the specified date.
