Pray & Fast For The Difficult Task Ahead – Mahama

Ghana’s president-elect, Mr. John Mahama, has recognized the considerable challenges that lie ahead for the nation after the December 7 elections. He has called on Ghanaians to show their faith through prayer and fasting to help guide the country forward.

Mr. Mahama pointed out that the campaign and election phases were relatively easier compared to the responsibilities he will face once he takes office, highlighting the importance of national unity and support. “The easy part is over – the campaign and the elections were the simpler stages. Now the real work begins, so if we prayed and fasted for a successful election, it’s time to intensify those efforts to seek God’s guidance in elevating our nation and restoring it as the ‘Black Star’ of Africa,” he remarked.

These comments were made during an end-of-year sermon on December 31st at an Assemblies of God Church in Tamale. He also urged for collective action to ensure effective governance, acknowledging that his party, the NDC, cannot accomplish this alone.

Mr. Mahama is set to be sworn in next week following his decisive victory in the December 7 general elections.
