Our Lawsuit Blocks OSP From Commenting Further – Ofori Atta’s Legal Team

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s attorney, Frank Davies, has said that he is unable to comment on the matter due to the pending lawsuit against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

An injunction in the complaint, according to Davies, prohibits the OSP from publicly threatening or intimidating Ofori-Atta.

Davies’ remarks followed the OSP’s announcement that if Ofori-Atta did not show up for interrogation by the deadline of June 2, 2025, it would put him back on its wanted list. Davies said that if he were the Special Prosecutor, he would not make such statements, particularly after being given a legal procedure.

“I’m pleased that he has acknowledged that the process has been served on him after we brought legal action against him. I wouldn’t make such pronouncements if I were the Special Prosecutor because we have granted relief for an injunction in the process that has been issued to him, which should stop him from doing what he’s doing. We are neither disturbed nor discouraged. We continue to pursue our line of action against them, and we anticipate an answer from him,” Davies stated.

OSP Declares Ken Ofori-Atta Wanted

The OSP, in a statement on March 17, 2025, stated that Ofori-Atta would be re-listed as a wanted person and declared a fugitive from justice if he does not appear by the June 2nd deadline, triggering an Interpol Red Notice and potential extradition proceedings.

The OSP acknowledged Ofori-Atta’s lawsuit challenging his prior designation as a wanted fugitive, clarifying that it had removed his name from the list after he assured the office he would be available for questioning on a specific date.

“The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) acknowledges a lawsuit filed by Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta contesting the OSP’s prior declaration that he was a wanted person and a fugitive from justice…The OSP remains unwavering in its commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring that Ofori-Atta answers for his role as the prime suspect in five ongoing corruption and corruption-related investigations.”
