NSA’s Gifty Oware Spotted At GFA Meeting With Sports Minister

Gifty Oware-Mensah, a former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), was part of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) delegation that met with Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, on March 17, 2025.

The GFA delegation included notable figures such as Kurt Okraku, Prosper Harrison Addo, Henry Asante Twum, and others. The discussions during the meeting focused on pressing football-related issues, including preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the necessary support for the team’s qualification efforts. Minister Adams also urged the GFA to reassess Premier League venues to ensure they meet standards for convenience, safety, and security.

However, Oware-Mensah’s presence at the meeting has sparked public scrutiny due to ongoing investigations into her alleged involvement in the NSA ghost names scandal. Recent reports reveal that she had previously been detained by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) for questioning before being released.

The investigation was prompted by President John Dramani Mahama’s order for the NIB to look into the NSA’s operations under the previous government, following the discovery of as many as 81,885 suspected ghost names on the authority’s payroll.

It is also noteworthy that Gifty Oware-Mensah currently chairs the management of the Black Queens.
