My Wife & I Voted For Myself, EC Needs Reforms – Cheddar
Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, the leader of the New Force Movement, has refuted rumors claiming he did not cast his vote for his own party in the recently concluded 2024 Presidential Election.
During his first press briefing since the end of the 2024 General Election, held in Accra on Monday, Bediako voiced concerns about irregularities within the electoral process. He specifically addressed the re-collation and re-declaration of results in certain closely contested constituencies, advocating for reforms to create stronger systems that will promote transparency and safeguard democracy in the nation.
The New Force Movement leader also revealed that he was unaware of some of the polling station agents who were assigned to his party during the elections. “The point I am trying to make is, as a nation, don’t we get enough of destroying our own and lying? and yes my wife voted for me, and I voted for myself,” he declared.
Bediako further stated, “Our system is not the best system that can really support what we believe in as democracy and that is something that I believe that our leaders will start to look into it and fix it…It has more to do with us as a country but standing up and making sure that we are protected by a system which we have built with laws and governance to protect the nation.”
