Mahama Requests Payroll Records From All Gov’t Institutions

All heads of government agencies are required by an order from the Office of the President to provide comprehensive records of all employees hired since December 7, 2024. The John Mahama administration’s continuous efforts to guarantee integrity and openness in the government payroll system include this request, which was made on January 15, 2025.
Each new hire must supply precise information, such as their complete name, job title or designation, employee identification number (if applicable), date of appointment, and date of payroll addition, according to a letter signed by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah. The guideline highlights how crucial this information is to maintaining accountability in the administration of public monies.
Heads of institutions are required to submit the requested data to the Office of the President no later than January 31, 2025. The letter states, “In line with ongoing efforts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of government payroll records under the John Mahama administration, I am writing to request your assistance in providing information on staff who have been added to your Institution’s Payroll since Saturday 7th December 2024.” It further stresses that this information is critical to maintaining transparency and accountability, and encourages institutions to contact the Office of the President for clarification if needed. The letter also expresses appreciation for their cooperation.
