If Marriage Were Easy, Jesus Christ Would Have Married – Kumchacha

Prophet Kumchacha, also known as Nicholas Osei, the founder and head of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, has expressed his contentious opinions on marriage and the difficulties that come with it.

On February 19, 2025, Kumchacha said in an interview with Zionfelix that marriage has little significance because it might lead to a lot of issues if two people are not compatible.

He continued by implying that Jesus Christ himself might not have made it to paradise if he had gotten married because of the temptations that come with marriage, which might have caused him to stray from his own teachings.

“Jesus Christ would have married himself if marriage were simple. Jesus could as well have missed heaven if he had gotten married, especially if he had chosen a terrible spouse. Prominent people are crying behind closed doors because of marriage.”

“Marriage comes with a lot of drama, and if we were to come back to life again, I would plead with God to make marriage a contract so people can renew it when they are happy with it. If marriage wasn’t created by God, I would have said it is useless,” he said.

Prophet Kumchacha further asserted that many married individuals suffer from depression and various forms of abuse due to choosing the wrong partner.

“A lot of people have died because of marriage. Because of marriage, people are going through depression and a whole lot of abuse. I see marriage as a poison. If we were to come back to life after death, I would plead with God to stop marriage itself,” he added.

In addition to his comments on marriage, Prophet Kumchacha also criticized Prophet Ogyaba‘s former mistress for publicly disclosing their sexual relationship a few weeks prior.

During the same interview with Zionfelix on February 19, 2025, Kumchacha condemned the ex-girlfriend, identified as Cassie, for revealing her affair with the pastor after the relationship soured.

He suggested that she intended to damage Prophet Ogyaba’s marriage but is now experiencing the consequences of her actions.

“The girl is selfish because, assuming Ogyaba got her a 10-bedroom apartment in East Legon and also one of Despite’s cars, do you think she would have come out to say what she said?

“Everything is a lose-and-win affair… So, she came out because she lost. Also, she intended to ruin Ogyaba’s marriage,” he said.

Kumchacha’s remarks are in response to a recent incident on January 26, 2025, when Cassie made several allegations against Prophet Ogyaba on social media, claiming neglect and threats to her life.

She revealed their extramarital affair, including a pregnancy, and provided audio recordings and videos to support her claims, attempting to gain public sympathy and portray herself as the victim.

In response, Prophet Ogyaba admitted to the affair but emphasized that, like any human, he is prone to making mistakes.

During a live session with TikTok influencers, he explained that the relationship deteriorated when Cassie claimed she was pregnant with twins, became demanding, and insisted on moving into his home.

He revealed that, after spending millions on her, he paid GH¢60,000 for her rent and GH¢20,000 for furnishings, as his wife was returning soon.

Prophet Ogyaba also refuted Cassie’s claim of staying with him for four months, stating that it was only one month.
