Great Ampong Apologizes To NDC In New Song

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) members and Ghanaians have received an unreserved apology from Ghanaian musician Great Ampong for his previous campaign song that made disparaging remarks about the party.
Even though he has long supported the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the seasoned Ghanaian gospel performer, also known as Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, voiced displeasure in the party for what he saw as its lack of support and recognition.
As the first Gospel musician to write a song supporting the NPP at a time when many creatives were afraid of possible NDC reaction, he emphasized the sacrifices he made in an interview with Ashh FM in Kumasi.
Great Ampong bemoaned the fact that party leaders had given him little to no credit or payment for his contributions to the party. I am unable to name anything that has been done for me in exchange today. I can’t go to the people in charge and demand payment. However, none of them have acknowledged the sacrifices made by several others, particularly the creatives, for them, nor have they recalled any of the sacrifices I have made,” he continued.

NPP Neglects Me After Performing At Party Events
Great Ampong noted a pattern of neglect after performing at party events, with organizers failing to provide follow-up or support. “They would invite us to perform at an event, but after the event, no one calls to check up on any of us or offer any compensation. They hardly pick up your calls or reply to messages. Even the NDC would not do that,” he said.
Despite his grievances, Great Ampong clarified that he remains a staunch supporter of the NPP and will continue to endorse the party.
Before the December 7, 2024, elections, Great Ampong released a campaign song in support of the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia. However, the song included unfounded statements about President John Dramani Mahama.
On February 22, 2025, in a video shared on X, Great Ampong apologized to Ghanaians for the inappropriate lyrics directed at the NDC and some citizens.
In his recent song titled “Apology,” the artiste calls for unity among Ghanaians following the elections, observing that politicians are often selfish individuals who don’t genuinely care about the people and the state of the country, despite their promises during campaign season.
Great Ampong come down
big family
Unity brings peace so I strongly agree with Ampong
Ghanaians must be united
Ever since min.Ampong came up with the apology
Ghanaians are really bashing him
why can’t one apologize for their mistakes??
